Biography

Jake Rogers is a filmmaker and MFA candidate in the Film & Television Production Division at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Originally from Chicago and raised in Houston, he is now based in Los Angeles, where he is concentrating on producing while building on his directing foundation.

He draws inspiration from both directors, such as Christopher Nolan, Baz Luhrmann, Gus Van Sant, Frank Darabont, and John G. Avildsen, as well as creative producers like Robert Evans and Matthew Weiner. His work often explores social and philosophical themes through a Gen Z lens, aiming to create emotionally resonant, thought-provoking stories.

In 2023, Rogers wrote, directed, and produced the short film Imperfection. The following year, he completed his senior thesis film, "Peace Through Color," at the University of the Incarnate Word, where he earned his B.A. in Communication Arts with a minor in Marketing. Both films earned recognition on the festival circuit and reflect his commitment to meaningful, character-driven storytelling.

Since graduating in 2024, Rogers has relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his MFA at USC. Alongside his studies, he continues to build his production brand, Jake Rogers Creative Visions, with the long-term goal of establishing an independent studio dedicated to amplifying emerging voices and crafting bold, impactful stories.
