- Annemarie Jacir was born in Bethlehem, Palestine. Annemarie is a director and writer, known for Salt of This Sea (2008), When I Saw You (2012) and Wajib (2017).
- All four of her feature films were Palestine's official submissions to the Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film.
- Camera D'Or (Golden Camera) nomination - Cannes Film Festival 2008.
- In 2018, BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) held the first retrospective of her work.
- She has served on the Un Certain Regard jury of the Cannes Film festival in 2018 and on the International Competition Jury of Berlin International Film Festival in 2020.
