Biography

Hyunjun Park (JunLA) was born in September 1992 in Seoul, South Korea. He is a Cinematographer and Visual Story-teller with 10+ years of experience in cinematography, camera operation, lighting, producing, and editing.

His first film related career started as soon as he joined a Korean commercial production company as a Production Assistant and Assistant Editor. Having worked with some major multinational corporations, such as Samsung, Nongsim, Cheil, and CJ Entertainment, Hyunjun has equipped himself with invaluable hands-on experience in multifaceted aspects of productions (camera operation, focus pulling, and lighting) and post-production processes (editing, coloring, and sound design).

In 2018, Hyunjun departs his first journey as a Cinematographer and Lead Editor at a fashion wholesale company in Los Angeles. His primary goal was to create visually inspiring films and to enhance the "aesthetics". During these years, Hyunjun was fully dedicated to the delicate process of experimenting with camera workflows and lighting techniques to determine and create a unique film look of an intended film. Aside from the fashion films and lookbooks, he also shot countless number of interviews and testimonials, docu-style video productions, and product cinematography in a variety of settings (indoor vs. outdoor / natural vs. controlled lighting).

Afterwards, Hyunjun joined New York Film Academy (NYFA) in the Filmmaking program, which taught him the essential fundamentals of cinematography and lighting, turning his previous experience and personally acquired knowledge into a cohort of academic learning and professional knowledge. He has directed, produced, filmed and edited over 25+ features, short films, commercials, and music videos since then.
