  • Jess is a writer, director and producer from Liverpool. She recently graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a first class degree in Filmmaking, and since then has been expanding her portfolio across film & photography. Primarily working in short narrative film as a Producer, she has two shorts in pre-production set to be completed by the end of 2025. One of these projects is in collaboration with Old Swan Films, who recently saw their feature documentary The Little Things acquired for global distribution by Buffalo 8. In her practice as a writer/director, Jess is concerned with telling tender & vulnerable stories that are shaped by her own lived experiences. More generally, Jess seeks to make films that have an ambitious and engaging social message. She was also recently commissioned by Imperial War Museum North (IWM) in Manchester to create a film for Chila Burman's solo exhibition, 'Chila Welcomes You'. The film, entitled 'Disobey,' explores Chila's personal stories of Indian heritage & growing up in Liverpool, and will be exhibiting at IWM North until August 2025.
