Angelo moved to Los Angeles from New York in 1995 to pursue a
screen-writing career. AAfter several years of writing and rewriting,
Angelo receive a "break" in 2003 when his TV series proposal was
optioned and another TV series pilot script received an Honorable
Mention in the WriteSafe.com Present-a-thon Contest. Later that year
two of Angelo's other TV series treatments reached semi-finalist status
in TVWriter.com's People's Pilot Competition.
In late 2003 Angelo wrote a short script for a film he produced and directed called Get Spielberg. Angelo immediately followed up with another short film he wrote, directed, produced and shot titled, Picture Perfect.
In 2004, he embarked upon the journey of producing his own feature film and adapted a script he'd written for "Sex and the City" called Sex, Shoes & Unicorns (2005). While shooting SS&U Angelo completed the follow up for Picture Perfect called Picture Perfect: Redux.
In 2005 Angelo wrote the feature script for "Nanny and the Professional," which was adapted from a script he'd written in 1997. Angelo decided to produce a short version of "Nanny and the Professional" and completed production on the film in May 2005. Angelo met with the charming Christina Cox and later with Sharon Warren over discussions for the two leading roles. After several rewrites he put the script on hold to continue his filmmaking education.
In 2006 Angelo steeped himself into filmmaking with an aggressive schedule that ultimately produced six short films in 2006. As writer/director/editor/producer he completed "Broken Hearts Club," "Renounced," "Valerie & Sid" and "Love is for Democrats." He then produced and edited "El Ride," which won Best-in-Fest honors at the Austin Woman's Film, Music and Literary Festival. He later co-produced and edited "I Know Who Shot You" by a first-time director.
Angelo began 2007 with a quarterfinals finish for Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett's "The Lot." Finishing 100th out of 12,000 finalists he was called to make a second film for the reality show. Angelo made "The First Time," a 3-minute explosively dramatic short film. Later in 2007 Angelo began consulting with another first-time writer/producer for the short film "Until Next Time." When post-production challenges raised Angelo took the helm as editor and post-supervisor, working with the producer and composer for the finish cut. The Film won Best-in-Fest honors at its very first film festival. Lastly, Angelo made film festival history when four of his films were accepted into the LA ShortsFest.
In December 2007 Angelo jumped back into film production. Going back to his early filmmaking roots, Angelo rewrote one of his short films into a feature film now titled, "The Broken Hearts Club: The Trouble With Love." The film is a lively tale of love, loneliness and overcoming heartbreak, told with honesty and truth. The film allowed Angelo to work with some of the extraordinary actors he met during his journey.
In 2008 Angelo participated in the nomination for film music excellence for his work with the composer and producer on the score for the film "Until Next Time" The film, composer, producer and Angelo each won a Silver Medal for Excellence in use of music in a film.
