- Began taking tap lessons at age four.
- Plays the triangle, ukulele, and marimba.
- Is an avid freshwater fisherman and a "club throwing" golfer.
- Enlisted in the Navy (1952) and was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago to entertain the troops.
- Lives in West Hills ,California with Norma, and performs twice a year at the Champagne Theater in Branson, Missouri. (2003)
- Served as the choreographer for the live Lawrence Welk concert shows.
