Vladimir Samsonov is Soviet and Russian animated film director. The author of the miniature Spokoynoy nochi, malyshi! (1964), used in 1986-1994. Samsonov graduated from the VGIK (workshop of Ivan Ivanov-Vano) in 1968. In 1971, he shot the first animated film at the Soyuzmultfilm studio as a director. From 1975 to 1995 Vladimir Samsonov worked in the Multtelefilm of the Ekran Creative Association. He worked in hand-drawn techniques and pictorial animation. Member of ASIFA. Directed more than 50 animated films.
