- Mick O'Dwyer was born on June 9, 1936 in Waterville, County Kerry, Ireland. He was an actor, known for The Sunday Game (1981), Micko (2018) and All-Ireland Championship Football Final 1959 (1959). He was married to Mary Carmel and Geraldine. He died on April 3, 2025 in County Kerry, Ireland.

- He ended his remarkable inter-county senior managerial career in 2013 after agreeing to take charge of Clare for one season.
