- Additional Crew
Derek Toth is an actor, studio animal trainer, and snake wrangler whose credits include Deadpool & Wolverine, Fallout, and Being the Ricardos.
He was raised on Cougar Hill Ranch, a wild animal ranch founded by his grandfather located north of Los Angeles. There, Derek grew up caring for animals and spending time on film sets.
At eight years old, Derek made his first on-camera appearance in a Kia commercial alongside Chloe, an olive baboon he had grown up with on the ranch. The experience gave him an early look at how productions come together and helped shape his interest in working on set.
After studying philosophy, Derek began his professional career as a production assistant before moving into studio animal training and snake wrangling. Over more than a decade, he has worked with animals ranging from dogs and cats to wolves, cougars, primates, and venomous snakes. His work includes training animal performers for the camera and safely relocating wildlife encountered on location.
Beyond the set, Derek advocates for animal welfare and conservation. He spends much of his free time outdoors, hiking, running, and traveling.
