Ethan Chapin(2002-2022)
Ethan Chapin was a kind, joyful, and adventurous young man whose presence made every space brighter. Born in Conway, Washington, he was one of a set of triplets, growing up inseparable from his brother and sister. Family was at the heart of who he was, and he was known for his loyalty, humor, and easygoing nature.
Ethan graduated from Mount Vernon High School, where he played basketball and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He went on to attend the University of Idaho, where he was majoring in recreation, sport, and tourism management. He was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, where he built many strong friendships and was admired for his fun-loving personality and caring spirit.
At the time of his passing, Ethan was in a close relationship with Xana Kernodle, and their friends recalled the happiness they brought each other. Ethan loved sports, traveling, and making memories with those he cared about. His laughter and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Ethan's life was tragically cut short at age 20, alongside Xana Kernodle and their friends Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, in an attack at an off-campus house in Moscow, Idaho, in November 2022. He is remembered as a devoted son, brother, and friend, whose kindness and light continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
