Biography

From an early age, Scott Kirkwood was always fascinated by technology and media. While attending college he helped found a radio station, where he hosted a radio show and served as Programming Coordinator before graduating and moving on into the tech industry while exploring further projects.

As an early internet adopter he started his first music-related website in 1996, followed by a website devoted to the then-unreleased deleted scenes of the Star Wars films in 1998. In 2003, he founded a new website devoted to the obscure and unloved Star Wars Holiday Special, which then became the central location for all information about the infamous 1978 TV event. This led to panel appearances at conventions around the world, including Lucasfilm's own Star Wars Celebration in 2019 and 2022.

In between all of this, Scott had small appearances in the 2001 indie film Down and Out with the Dolls (2001) and in the Portlandia (2011) series.

Scott began working with director/producers Steve Kozak and Jeremy Coon in 2017 on a new documentary project about The Star Wars Holiday Special, collaborating with the team over the next few years and through the COVID-19 pandemic to co-produce A Disturbance in the Force (2023), which premiered in 2023 to high acclaim at SXSW in Austin, TX and soon became the highest selling documentary on Amazon.

In 2024, he took a break from the tech industry to play a part in the Amazon Prime series Criminal (2026), following shortly after by playing the character of Joey in the feature film ...And Out Comes the Wolf.
