Biography

Takis Halas was born in 1951 in Athens, Greece. He was an actor, known for The City Jungle (1970), Vengalika (1988) and Funny Girl (1970). He died in 2003 in Paros, Greece.

Had achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism in which the body is perfectly formed but the bones initially modelled in cartilage, the long bones of the arms and legs, do not grow long enough. Velázquez painted a fine portrait of a man with this condition, which hangs in the Prado in Madrid.
