Leah Fitzgerald-Quinn is an actor, arts producer, costume designer and macaron whizz, with a love for all things creative. She divides her time between flexing her Shakespeare muscles with the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, feeling guilty about the amount of costumes stacked in her living room, and spreading edible glitter throughout the house.
Since graduating from a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama) in 2018, Leah has worked extensively as an actor across the Brisbane theatre scene. Her credits include: The Rover, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, A Sleep of Prisoners, Macbeth in the Dark, Henry IV Part I (Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble), The Midsummer Carnival (Brisbane Immersive Ensemble), Hamlet (4MBS Brisbane Shakespeare Festival), As You Like It (Thunderbear Productions), The Crucible, Minefields and Miniskirts (Brisbane Arts Theatre), and Romeo & Juliet (Shake & Stir). She also regularly performs in Instant Romeo & Juliet, Express Macbeth, and Half-Hour Hamlet as a part of Shakespeare's Shorts (Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble).
Leah's design credits include costume design for The Rover, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, Express Macbeth (Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Shakespeare Prison Project), The Fae Consul (Folly Games & Woodford Folk Festival), The Oily Man Who I Can Heal With My Bare Hands (Lightning Bolt Collective), production design for Stronger x Pariah and A Fireside Chat with Lucifer (Lightning Bolt Collective), and the 48 Hour Film Project Awards Ceremony, and set design for Macbeth (Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble) and Death and the Maiden (Ad Astra).
Leah was a Core Ensemble member and portfolio holder with the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble from 2020-2022 and an Apprentice in 2019. She has trained with the Melbourne Shakespeare Company, Zen Zen Zo, Vulcana Circus, The Mask Family, D.I.V.E Theatre Collective, and Backbone Youth Arts. Her training has spanned the Linklater Voice Method, Biomechanics, Speaking Shakespeare in Your Own Voice, the Feldenkrais Method, Non-Verbal Mask Theatre, Theatre of the Oppressed, Stage Combat, and Aerials, to name a few.
When she's not on or around the stage, Leah is an avid baker and decorator with the aspiration to one day establish her own macaron business.
