Sherif Mohamed Mattar Is an award-winning Egyptian American actor, filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, songwriter, recording artist and film composer with over 50 credits to his name across film, television & commercial.
In the film world, Sherif displayed his enigmatic versatility across a diverse list of features including A Hip Hop Story with Affion Crockett, Henry with Tammy Blanchard, No Way Out with Marques Houston, and a leading role in the theatrically released film I Am Ryan. His commercial work includes campaigns with notable brands such as Jack In The Box, IHOP, Target, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dr. Squatc, Airex, Faraday and many more. With a strong passion for films since an early age, he always knew he would eventually make his own. He founded the production company Good Ones Films in 2025 and wrote, directed, produced, composed and starred in the films Eggs, Method and the TV series Check The Gates. His self-produced and written work has earned him multiple screenplay awards, a best TV series award and a best supporting actor award.
Originally aspiring to be a novelist, he began his artistic endeavors penning short stories and comics while also writing and recording songs in grade school. Musically he is known for his conceptually driven bodies of work, vivid storytelling and an eclectic blend of hip-hop, synth-pop and alternative R&B. With a father from Cairo and mother from New Orleans, his musical influences range from jazz funk to Arabian percussion. He has since released 8 full length albums and over 200 songs independently and has had his music featured in MTV’s Teen Moms, Tyler Parry’s Sistas, Amazon Prime’s Hatchetman 2 and I Am Ryan to name a few.
In the literary world, Sherif has recently published a sci-fi horror short story titled Tree Man. His upcoming works include a comic book series called Tsunami Samurai and a children's book titled The Lucky Pecan. He has also begun work on his debut novel which remains untitled.
