Nimmakayala Prasad, born in Amalapuram to Nimmakayala Raja Rao and Nimmakayala Satya Narayanamma, is a renowned professional in the Indian entertainment industry. A graduate in Commerce from Miriam High School and College, Prasad displayed leadership qualities early in life, serving as Student Union President during his Intermediate and Degree education. An accomplished orator and artist, he won several prizes in elocution and debate competitions and completed a Drawing Technical Teacher Training course from Andhra University. A sports enthusiast as well, he actively participated in cricket leagues as a wicket-keeper and third-down batsman.
Prasad began his professional journey as a typist before discovering his true calling in the creative and media space. Between 1996 and 2000, he worked in advertising as a Visualizer, Art Director, and Creative Director, earning accolades at both the Hyderabad and Madras Ad Club Awards. His transition into the film industry came in 2001 when he joined Suresh Productions as Marketing Head, overseeing campaigns for several successful films and building expertise in film marketing. From 2005 to 2007, he served as the National Content Head for Visage Images (Getty Images), where he played a pivotal role in strengthening the brand's partnership with the WPP Group and enhancing its identity in the Indian market.
As an Executive Producer at Art Beat Capital and Sunshine Cinemas from 2008 to 2013, Prasad oversaw multiple acclaimed projects and later joined Annapurna Studios as Marketing Head (2014-2016), contributing to some of the studio's most successful films. His creative leadership took a new dimension when he became the Creative Head - South at ZEE5 (2017-2020), where he launched more than 30 original shows and films across Telugu and Tamil, establishing ZEE5 as a front-runner in regional OTT content. His exceptional work earned him multiple ZEE5 Digital Champ Awards.
Elevated to Vice President - Telugu at ZEE Studios (2021-2024), Prasad successfully redefined the studio's position in South Indian cinema by driving film development, acquisitions, and production strategy. In 2025, he returned to Annapurna Studios as a Producer, marking a full-circle moment in a career that spans advertising, OTT, and big-screen entertainment.
