  • Anthony is an on-air political analyst at NBC News, CNBC, and MSNBC providing independent analysis of the leading political, legal, and economic issues of the day. He is also an aspiring actor with extensive training at Studio Acting Conservatory in Washington, D.C.

    In addition to work his on TV and stage, Anthony has held leadership roles inside and outside of government, shaping communications and opinion on some of our nation's most significant debates and challenges.

    During the first two years of the Biden Administration, Anthony led public affairs at the Justice Department and served as Attorney General Merrick Garland's chief spokesman. At the end of Anthony's tenure, Attorney General Garland presented him with the Edmund J. Randolph Award - the Department's highest honor. From 2011 to 2015, Anthony served as Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary for Public Affairs, closely collaborating with President Obama's economic team on issues related to the debt limit crisis, capital markets, banks, and non-bank financial institutions.

    Earlier in his career, Anthony led communications for Senator Edward Kennedy, Representative Harold Ford, Jr., and Senator Zell Miller and served as a senior advisor to Jon Corzine, both in the Senate and during his time as New Jersey Governor. Anthony also worked on the communications staff of two presidential campaigns, Gore-Lieberman 2000 and Kerry-Edwards 2004.

    In the private sector, Anthony was Executive Vice President, Communications, at Managed Funds Association (MFA), the global trade association for the alternative investment industry, from 2015-2020. He has also worked at the Brunswick Group, where he advised Fortune 500 companies and other clients.

    Anthony received his B.A. in Business Administration from Morehouse College and M.A. in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University.
