Leesa Mackey

Leesa Mackey is a Canadian Actor Singer songwriter from Montreal Canada. Leesa Mackey started her career in Rock, Soul Hip-hop groups such as Tamashi Band Butta Babees later featuring with D Shade from Shades of Culture, as well as with Annakin Slayd, In 2016, she joined Perfect Strangers, which became the touring band for Dubmatique, the ADISQ award-winning, platinum-selling Montreal hip-hop group. Leesa performed with them at the 2018 editions of Montréal en Lumière and Les Francos de Montréal, becoming their official female singer in 2021. In March 2018, she joined The Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir, directed by Dr. Trevor W. Payne. She was featured as a soloist on Aretha Franklin's gospel classic "How I Got Over". In January 2019, she landed the opportunity to sing in an Opera de Montréal production: Champion: an Opera in Jazz, by Terence Blanchard, for the Canadian Debutte at Montreal's Place des Arts SALLE WILFRID-PELLETIER. In 2021 Leesa teamed up with professional songwriter Matt Lipscombe (Me, Mom & Morgentaler). They received a Canada Council grant to record an EP with Juno Award-winning producer Joseph Donovan (Sam Roberts).Most recently her Rock vocals were featured in Deaner 89 motion picture.
