  • Anatoliy Ivanovich Solin is Soviet and Russian film director, as well as an illustrator of children's books. Chairman of the trade union committee of cultural workers of the creative union Soyuztelefilm of the USSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting (1989-1993), member of the Union of Cinematographers (1977), laureate of the Golden Eagle award (2002), associate professor of the department of directing animated films at VGIK. Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation (2014). In 1961 Solin graduated from two-year courses of animated artists of the Soyuzmultfilm studio. In 1975, he graduated from the Faculty of Art and Graphic Arts with a degree in graphic art in the course of Professor Goncharov of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. In 1959-1995 he worked as an animator, then as a production director at the movie studios Soyuzmultfilm, Kievnauchfilm, Multtelefilm, and the Ekran creative association. For the first time as a director, he shot four commercials for the Vneshtorg USSR in 1968 at the Kievnauchfilm studio. He was a teacher at the courses of animators in Kiev and Moscow, as well as the artistic director of the creative association "Telescope". One of the creators of the first animated series for television. Together with his wife, Inna Pshenichnaya, they led the workshop at the department of directing animated films at VGIK.
