Biography

She is a former professional surfer, Laura's father was Lord Blears who was a professional wrestler in the 1950's and for many years oversaw the tug-of-war in the Superteams competition. Ching won the 1972 Makaha Invitational and became the first woman to compete in the Smirnoff men's championship in 1973. Ching was the World's number one lady surfer in 1973. Her brother Jimmy was the 1972 world surf champion. She has modelled for brands such as San Miguel Beer and Smirnoff.

Her son, Dylan Ching played American Football for San Diego State University. He reached 3rd round in the draft (15th Overall). He played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 2000 to 2002 during his career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Ching caught 37 passes for 507 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns in his career.
