Biography

Steve Tran is a French actor, director, and screenwriter of Vietnamese descent. He has built a prolific and versatile career spanning over two decades in film, television, and theater. Born into an artistic family, Steve is the son of Huu Phuoc, a Vietnamese icon of Cai luong. Growing up in a creative environment, Steve made his acting debut at the age of 13, officially launching his professional career.

Steve quickly established himself in the French audiovisual landscape, becoming one of the most recognizable Asian faces in French cinema. Showcasing his versatility in both indie dramas and mainstream comedies, he gained widespread recognition for his roles in popular hit films such as Neuilly Yo Mama! and Halal Police State. In 2012, he delivered a standout performance as a complex supporting antagonist in Julien Abraham's drama Asphalt Playground, later reuniting with the director for the comedy Made in China (2019). He has also appeared in major French productions like Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Empire and A Difficult Year.

On television, Steve is a familiar face, featuring in critically acclaimed series spanning various genres. His notable TV credits include the Canal Plus original series The Fever, the hit comedy series The Torch, the Swiss financial thriller Banking District, and the internationally renowned spy thriller The Bureau.

His career expanded to the international stage with his role as Kasem in the American blockbuster Fountain of Youth, directed by Guy Ritchie. Driven by a desire to tell original stories and shape representation on screen, Steve has also stepped behind the camera. He co-directed the film I Am Nobody alongside Sebastien Kong. On stage, he connected directly with audiences through his solo theatrical show.
