Biography

Thomas Helmer was born on April 21, 1965 in Herford, Germany. He is an actor, known for Der Bulle von Tölz (1996), Couchgeflüster - Das kriegen die zurück (2013) and Star Wurst - Möge das Herz mit Euch sein (2015). He has been married to Yasmina Filali since July 15, 2005. He was previously married to Regina Helmer.

Works as a TV journalist for German sports network DSF.

Many tabloids considered it embarrassing that he proposed publicly to Yasmina Filali at a celebrity dinner (2004).

During his professional career, he played for Arminia Bielefeld (1984-1986), Borussia Dortmund (1986-1992), Bayern Munich (1992-1999), Hertha BSC (1999) and Sunderland (1999-2000). He won three German league titles and the UEFA Cup (1996).

Former German soccer player, collecting 65 caps (5 goals) for Germany's national side and winning the European Football Championship in 1996.
