Haiwei Sun is a dedicated writer/director based in Beijing, China. Having been exposed to traditional Chinese painting from a young age, Haiwei Sun began his artistic journey with still life sketches, figure studies, and watercolor painting in middle school. During his university years, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Design. Haiwei believes his extensive engagement in fine arts has cultivated a distinct artistic sensibility and a unique aesthetic for observing the world. This fusion of artistic refinement seamlessly intertwines with his fervent passion for storytelling, playing a pivotal role in his pursued directorial career. Haiwei has directed several short films and music videos, including "The Key"(Drama, 2021) "Wish"(Drama/Sci-fi, 2022) "Jamie"(Drama, 2022) "Grass Grows, Warblers Fly"(Drama, 2023). "Black Swan Incident"(Music Video, worked with independent musician Louis Liu, 2023).
As a director, Haiwei's aspiration is to explore subjects often shrouded in shame, peel away the veneer of reality, and delve into every facet of humanity. He is committed to narrating the most compelling stories with genuine sincerity and kindness, without holding anything back.
