Matt Karol(IV)

Matt Karol is a Jewish-Canadian writer, director, producer, and actor with deep roots in Montreal, Canada. A McGill University Faculty of Law alumnus and member of the Ontario Bar, Matt initially made his mark in the legal world, working in the mergers and acquisitions department at the prestigious firm Stikeman Eliott. He then shifted his focus to managing venture investments for his family office, where he played a crucial role in advising early-stage companies, raising significant capital, and providing legal expertise. Matt is recognized as one of the most active angel investors in Canada.

Inspired by his great uncle, Murray Shostak, a renowned Canadian producer and former CEO of Universal Canada, Matt has been cultivating a career in the entertainment industry since his early twenties. He has written three feature-length screenplays and produced a short film, displaying a penchant for philosophical, spiritual, and dramatic themes. Matt also practices stand-up comedy, refining his skills in storytelling and delivery. Currently, he is developing his debut feature film, "Vine of the Dead," scheduled for production in June 2024. Matt splits his time between Montreal and Los Angeles, California, blending his diverse talents and experiences in both the legal and entertainment realms.
