Biography

Benjamin Vomastek is a writer, director, and producer based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is passionate about making community driven movies - filmed entirely in Ann Arbor, with local creatives.

After rediscovering his love for comedy during the summer of 2020, he grew frustrated by the genre's decline-and set out to bring it back himself. In 2022, he wrote his first feature, Rosetta Stoned, and directed it the following year. Just days after wrapping, he began writing Hometown Summer, which premiered at the Michigan Theater on May 22, 2025.

His comedic voice blends the raunchy spirit of American Pie and Superbad with the emotional punch of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. He cites George Carlin, Dave Chappelle, and Seth MacFarlane as key inspirations.
