Jim Hagan was born in November of 1974 in Northeast Ohio. Raised for the most part in Brook Park, Ohio by his father and his paternal grandmother. He attended Midpark High School where he realized his joy of performing. He was part of all of the choirs that were available to join. He also discovered theater around this time, though he mostly stuck to the choirs. In his senior year of high school he portrayed Mercutio in the Fall play, Romeo and Juliet. This is also the only time he has ever performed in a Shakesperean show.

After high school, Jim attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Not realizing that performing could actually become a career, he majored in Secondary Mathematical Education with the intent of becoming a high school math teacher. That plan didn't exactly work out the way that he had hoped and left BGSU after only 2.5 years. But while a student there, he had the opportunity to become a DJ at the college radio station, WBGU. When he was at home after college, his father said that he should find a way to continue being an on-air radio personality. A quick search through the Yellow Pages took him to The Ohio Center for Broadcasting. He was able to get an internship in the Media Relations Department of The Cleveland Crunch, a professional indoor soccer team. During this time, Jim was also hired as a post-production video editor with a local video production company that specialized in corporate/industrial and training videos.

Around this time, he met the woman that was to be his wife, Stacy. But with Stacy came her 10-month-old son, Dale. The three of them become a family and life changed for Jim. With a brand-new family to take care of and all of the excitement that comes with that, he needed to buckle down and save money for their futures. So, entertaining and performing took a back seat.

Many years later, when his son became older and life had settled down, Jim got the itch again. He searched for a way to entertain. He eventually auditioned for a local community theater play, Run for Your Wife. But because it had been nearly 20 years since Jim had set foot on a stage, he was cast in a small role with just 6 lines. But the bug had bit.

Over the next 10+ years, Jim would perform in over 25 community theater productions, including Of Mice and Men (Slim), Witness for The Prosecution (Leonard Vole), The Odd Couple (Felix Ungar), It's A Wonderful Life (George Bailey), To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday (David), Rumors (Lenny Ganz), Arsenic and Old Lace (Mortimer Brewster) and To Kill A Mockingbird (Atticus Finch). All of this while still having a full-time job and taking care of his family.

In the last couple of years, Jim decided to try his hand at local independent film. Initially, he auditioned for student films but eventually found himself in front of the camera of feature films and short films. The transition from stage to screen was not as easy as he had anticipated but the thrill of performing never goes away and he soon found his footing.

As of 2025, Jim is hoping to continue acting in films as well as stage productions. No longer married, he now has all time in the world to further his career and make a name for himself.
