[from an interview in 2003] I danced for three years before getting into porn in Canada, England, and Las Vegas. In England, I was dancing in a really strict upscale club, Stringfellows, right in downtown London, and it was crazy. They had a rule where you had to be more than a certain number of feet from the guy; you couldn't even touch them on the shoulder when you were dancing; no lap dancing there. I would meet business people from all over the world: Egypt, Brazil, Africa, everywhere. It was really an experience -- and it was a real big change to go from there to Vegas; totally different. I got to California in March [2003], and I started in porn around mid-March.

I did two years at university where I was a music major, majoring in voice. I was singing when I was in high school, too; an art school. I also had 10 years of ballet, and I taught ballet for a year. [2005 comment on starting her own agency The Lauren Phoenix Agency] I can't be a performer forever, so I want to make sure I have a place in the industry for as long as I possibly can because I love it and I'd hate to leave it. It's something that I can hope to make money on while helping people and being sort of a role model. That's something that I always thought was important and prided myself on, being able to help people with the experience I have. My biggest joy is to educate the girls, and have them know exactly what they're getting themselves into. It can be a great, wonderful experience.

[2005 comment on her agency The Lauren Phoenix Agency] When I have new girls joining the agency, I always sit them down and tell them everything. How to prepare for a scene, make sure and check your tests, make sure to take care of yourself, and treat your body with respect. Make sure you're being very healthy and cautious. I want them to be safe and happy right from the start so they can have a lot of great sex and have a really good time.
