Biography

Benjamin Raab

Biography

  • Every dynamic duo has an origin story... and the origins of the prolific writing team of Benjamin Raab & Deric A. Hughes - a.k.a. their "Geek Cute" - began in a Los Angeles comic book shop in 2001 where a chance encounter between these lifelong nerds gave rise to a successful partnership spanning 20+ years. Since then, their work has appeared across multiple media such as comic books, web series, video games, television and film, where they continue to tell stories for genre fans. Some of their notable achievements on the small screen include Syfy's WAREHOUSE 13, The CW's BEAUTY & THE BEAST, THE FLASH, ARROW and LEGACIES, as well as MTV's SCREAM: RESURRECTION.

When they're not traveling through time as Writers/Co-Executive Producers on the highly-anticipated sequel to the classic NBC series, QUANTUM LEAP, Raab & Hughes can be found on the battlefields of World War II adapting the graphic novel BLACK COTTON STAR into a feature film to be directed by Reggie Hudlin for producers Prime Universe and ZQ Entertainment, and on the far side of the galaxy creating their latest sci-fi comic book, RENEGADE, with artist Pete Woods for Mad Ghost Productions and Image Comics.

Additionally, Raab & Hughes have several pilot sales on their résumé. The first was based on the classic Street & Smith pulp series, THE AVENGER, with Neal Baer Productions and CBS Studios for The CW. The second was based on their creator-owned comic book, LIVING IN INFAMY, for Skydance Entertainment. More recently, they developed the steampunk fantasy novel CLOCKWORK LIVES with Warner Bros Entertainment, as well as the acclaimed, epic martial arts/fantasy graphic novel, INFINITE KUNG FU, on behalf of IDW Entertainment.

Raab & Hughes are repped by Pacific View Management and VERVE. Follow them on Twitter/IG @Wondermasons and @dblackanese.
