EDUCATION: Long earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from (TSU) Tennessee State University where she also studied Theatre Arts and Public Relations. TSU is also the alma mater to the extraordinarily gifted, media mogul, Oprah Winfrey. Later she entered California State UniversityLong Beach in pursuit of her Master's degree, in the area of Communicative Disorders in Speech & Hearing.

CAREER: Long was a strong supporting Actress in "Love Makes Things Happen" produced by ClearChannel Inc., Kenneth "Babyface," Edmonds, Tracey Edmonds, Emmy Award-winning casting director and current VP of Casting for BET, Robi Reed, along with NAACP Award-winning playwright and screen writer, David E. Talbert. However, her breakout role was on the Marvelous Entertainment 25 city tour of "A Mothers Prayer" where she and Raven-Sy'mone (The Cosby Show, That's So Raven) portrayed a mother-daughter duo in a drama comedy. Demetress would later worked briefly as Raven's personal assistant during the taping of "That's So Raven." Long made her feature film debut in a role initially written for a male as the "Church Usher" in the Paramount Pictures/MTV production of "The Fighting Temptations," starring Be'yonce Knowles and Cuba Gooding. Her first television guest role was as "Nurse Matilda" on episode "In Through the Outdoor" for the CW Network series "All of Us," produced by Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, and directed by Debbie Allen. Guided under the instruction of her mentor, the late-DGA director, Maynard C. Virgil (The Cosby Show, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Living Single, One on One), Long did a host of behind the scenes work for various television shows for experience, simultaneously continuing to sharpen her acting skills by portraying different characters produced by Marvelous Entertainment that grossed over 5 million during their theatrical runs across the nation, managed by The Mark A. Williams currently "Director of Production Services" for North American Ent. Although Long did not appear on the show, she was hired as a series regular in the role of "Cassandra" for the pilot episode of NBC's, "The Tracy Morgan Show." The character was casted twice after Long, but never made it on screen. After years of coming close to landing series regular and guest star roles, Demetress would finally guest star on the CW Network series "Everybody Hates Chris" as the "Testing Clerk" on the episode of "Everybody Hates Ex-Cons," after a brief chance meeting with Chris Rock. Demetress was directly hired by Reginald Hudlin to work on Quentin Tarrantino's "Django Unchained," and co-starred on an episode of the HBO Entertainment series, "Treme" as the "Courtroom Clerk, Tipitina." Ms. Long formed Celebrity Screenings & More, LLC (CMS&M) designed to bring Motion Picture Promotional Screenings to markets across America.

EARLY LIFE: A native of South Carolina Daughter of Phyllis Long and Larry Dreher. However, was adopted by maternal grandparents, John & Clara Long, a military family. John, Army retired, served in WWII, the Korean & Vietnam Wars. Phyllis clothing U.S. soldiers on Fort Jackson for 28 years. Ms. Long has a heart for vital employment roles in helping recruit and retain underrepresented students enroll in higher educational environments. She has always and remains to have a particular interest in finding useful financial strategies and resources for McKinney Vento Act Students (Homeless) in STEM and FILM Studies graduate college.

OTHER WORK HISTORY: While in attendance at TSU she worked for Student Services in the Offices of Financial Aid and Resident Life, to include assuming Upward Bound Dormitory Coordinator responsibilities for the TRIO Program and Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP). HCOP was a Grant Funded Program of (1,500,000). She previously worked with PreK-12th student populations as a Speech Therapist for Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE): to include advocating students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In recent years, she was licensed to work in the area of Virtual Speech Telepractice for 6 - 12th grade, while writing educational stories meant for TV & FILM. Ms. Long currently wants to also incorporate being a supporting actress for wholesome content
