  • Salman Shahid is a Pakistani actor who is highly respected especially in the television industry of Pakistan. Moreover, he has also worked in stage plays and films (including Lollywood and Bollywood). In India, he is known for his role in 2010's Ishqiya and 2014's Dedh Ishqiya, both of which performed reasonably well on the box-office.

    He had already made his mark as an actor on Pakistan Television with the programme 'Such Gup' as well as started a career in directing plays for the stage during his student days at Govt. College, Lahore. The actor for many years has given Pakistan great comedy shows. Among his comic roles, the famous ones are from the shows Tal Matol, Teen Bata Teen and Ho Bahoo. He successfully completed his film studies at the prestigious Moscow Film School. Salman on his return to Pakistan did pioneering work to help establish various drama groups and a drama school. His series Ababeel (PTV, Lahore) and Seerhian (PTV, Karachi) were memorable. He also did several noteworthy individual plays as well as direct episodes for the successful TV comedy series 'Family Front'. He wrote, directed and acted in the serial 'Bano Ko Pechano' (GEO TV) for which he gathered nominations in all departments of his endeavour at the 2006 Lux Style Awards. More recently, Salman has acted in films in India. He played the principal protagonist in 'Kabul Express' and a major support in 'Ishqiya'. Both films have run the international festival circuit. Salman received rave reviews for his performances in both these films.
