Biography

Johnny Bucyk was born on May 12, 1935 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981 with Frank Mahovlich and Allan Stanley.

Right winger with the National Hockey League's Detroit Red Wings (1955-1956 thru 1956-1957) and Boston Bruins (1957-1958 thru 1977-1978).

Pictured on one of six 50-cent Canadian postage stamps honoring NHL All-Stars, issued in a souvenir sheet on 29 January 2005. Others honored are Henri Richard, Grant Fuhr, Bryan Trottier, Allan Stanley, and Pierre Pilote.
