Joseph Dean Lacey began his journey in filmmaking from humble beginnings in Lincoln, Nebraska, driven by a deep passion for storytelling and creative expression. From a young age, Joseph discovered a fascination for capturing moments and crafting narratives, which eventually blossomed into a lifelong pursuit of cinematic artistry.

Initially self-taught, Joseph honed his skills through hands-on experience, overcoming challenges and embracing opportunities that allowed him to evolve both technically and creatively. His dedication and relentless curiosity led him to establish Sparkvid, a dynamic media production company known for its innovative approach to filmmaking, video editing, photography, and video marketing.

Expanding his creative ambitions further, Joseph founded Shoddy Productions, a production company dedicated specifically to indie films. Shoddy Productions challenges conventional filmmaking norms, intentionally steering clear of major studio formulas and embracing bold, original storytelling. Through this approach, Joseph strives to create unique films that stand out and leave lasting impressions on audiences.
