Biography

Dorothea Holt was born on May 18, 1910 in Hollywood, California, USA. She is known for Road to Bali (1952), Omar Khayyam (1957) and Ten Little Niggers (1949). She was married to Harry Redmond Jr.. She died on February 27, 2009 in Hollywood Hills, California, USA.

Joined Walt Disney's Imagineers firm in 1964 and designed much of the New Orleans Square for Disneyland, and also contributed to Fantasyland, Main Street, and the murals in Cinderella's Castle for Walt Disney World, retiring from Disney in 1974.

One of the first women to work in film production design when she was hired at David O. Selznick's studio in 1937.

Film illustrator and production designer who worked often with director Alfred Hitchcock.

Children: daughter Lynne Jackson, son Lee Redmond; three granddaughters, three great-grandsons.

Studied architecture at the University of Southern California and illustration at the Art Center College of Design.
