Biography

Russ Williams (born Marion A. Williams), U.S. Writer and Producer has pursued a varied and creative career in literature and the entertainment industry. As Executive Producer for the film company Gothic Pictures International (formerly Gothic Productions), based in the Philippines, he is extending his work as an independent producer and screenwriter into southeast and eastern Asia, and of course, the U.S.

He has just finished producing his first film with GPI, "Darkest Night," and the picture is moving into worldwide distribution. Two more films and a Manila TV series are now in development.

Russ also wrote the screenplay for and co-produced the award-winning independent film "The Last Year," which has received national and international distribution. He has worked as a co-producer and creative consultant for numerous films in Hollywood since 1995. He has a reputation for adding both artistic, literary quality and popular appeal to all the films and other media he has worked with.

Russ has a son, John Mark, who lives with his wife, Jennifer (a nurse practitioner with the Peace Corps) and teaches ESL in Ulan Batar, Mongolia. Russ is also the proud grandparent of a delightful young grandson, Jake.

The Night Hunter is Russ' first published novel, in 1990. It has since been re-released by another publisher. He has written four others: The Sword and Chalice (1981), Fall of the Sparrow (1986), What Gift, Oh Father, Father (1995), and Past Help and Grief (1998).

Russ resides in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, after having lived in Los Angeles for many years. His favorite pastimes include music (all kinds, notably classical), walking/hiking outdoors, photography, the natural sciences, spirituality, and Gothic literature.

Russ was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. He received a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He completed a master's degree in communication, journalism, and creative writing at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, near Chicago.
