Director Biography.
Chris Witt is a writer, director and producer from Hampshire, England, whose filmmaking is driven by a lifelong passion for cinema, television and animation.
From an early age, film became an important part of Chris’s life, not only as a source of entertainment, but as a way of exploring people, emotions and the world around him. Over the years, movies, television and anime have had a profound influence on his approach to storytelling, inspiring both the worlds he creates and the characters who inhabit them.
Personal experiences have also played an important role in shaping Chris’s work. Having experienced the loss of family and friends, as well as his own struggles through difficult periods of life, he draws upon those experiences when developing stories and characters. Rather than simply recreating those experiences, Chris uses them as an emotional foundation, exploring themes of loss, resilience, identity, isolation, friendship and the often complicated ways people deal with the challenges life throws at them.
A defining moment in Chris’s relationship with cinema came when he discovered Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. The film fundamentally changed his perception of what cinema could be. Its visual storytelling, ambition and willingness to communicate ideas without relying on conventional exposition opened his eyes to film as an art form and ultimately inspired him to pursue filmmaking himself.
As a filmmaker, Chris is particularly interested in creating distinctive worlds and memorable characters, often blending genre with human stories and exploring ideas through strong visual storytelling. His work spans different genres and tones, from supernatural and dark fantasy projects to character-driven drama, comedy and music-focused stories.
Chris is currently developing a growing slate of short and feature film projects, including the interconnected Aiko universe, Human'z and feature films, What Comes After, Hannah, Eden & Look At Me!, while continuing to develop his voice as a writer, director and producer.
His goal is simple: to make films that stay with audiences long after the credits roll.
