Biography

Betsy Arakawa was born on December 15, 1959 in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, USA. She is known for Card Sharks (1978), The Annual Thalians Gala Awards Tribute to Liza Minnelli (1994) and The 61st Annual Academy Awards (1989). She was married to Gene Hackman. She died on February 12, 2025 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.

She was laid to rest in an unmarked grave with her husband (Gene Hackman) at Rivera Memorial Gardens in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

She was of Japanese ancestry.

Her private memorial service along with Hackman was attended by close family and neighbors. It was on April 15, 2025 at the Rivera Family Funeral Home.
