Living a happy and successful life is all about choice. Anyone can choose happiness if they really want it. The key is the realization that happiness is not solely derived from dreams coming true. It also comes from the journey pursuing them. Living the dream is more than the end result, it's the sum of all the parts it took to get there.

My directing style is to make sure the actors understand the text and the subtext of the script and then cut them loose to improvisation at their leisure. Giving an actor the freedom to explore their character produces original, organic reactions to their world and the events that happen to them.

Though there is much science fiction mixed in, I used as much real science as I could to create a plausible world. I then reverse adapted the screenplay into a novella which is receiving rave reviews on Amazon. Now I am going to tackle the feature film myself.

All of my stories focus on controlling ideas that can be political, social or even relational. My short reverse zombie film "The Jones" for instance, is a metaphor for the zombie like state humans find themselves in while trudging through life looking for meaning. And when their daughter turns human, in a world where consuming humans is legal, it morphs into a social drama about the consumption of youthful innocence.

I spent my youth watching strong male leading characters but I always felt that strong female characters were underutilized. But I thought that women could be just as strong as men in action and character, which is what inspired me to write about them. I admire and respect them. Then I met one in real life and I married her. Wendy Crouse is all of the things I admire and respect about strong females in cinema and one of the many reasons I fell in love with her.
