Often mistaken as husband of Nova Villa, who played his wife in the 80s show "Chicks to Chicks", because Nova's real-life husband also shares the same name, Freddie Gallegos.

Also a politician -- he was elected councilor Pasay City (1971-1978), Paranque City congressman (1987), and senator 1992.

Son Hubert was convicted for life term by the lower court, but later acquitted by the Supreme Court, in the Visconde massacre, the incident which the movie The Vizconde Massacre: God, Help Us! (1993) was based.
