Biography

Leo Zimbron was named Head of Scripted Programming for Endemol Shine Boomdog in September 2018.

An accomplished television and film producer, Zimbron oversees all scripted programming for the Mexico City-based studio.

Endemol Shine Boomdog recently launched the hit drama series "Nicky Jam: El Ganador" for Netflix and just announced that upcoming drama "Subete a mi Moto" will be released in 2020 on Amazon Prime Video. Zimbron recently oversaw the launch of sitcom "Se Rentan Cuartos" for Comedy Central in Latin America and he's currently developing new scripted content with actress/producer Kate Del Castillo ("La Reina del Sur") and her Cholawood Productions team, as well as award-winning producer Gaston Pavlovich ("The Irishman").

Endemol Shine Boomdog was formed two years ago when Endemol Shine North America merged its Spanish language division Endemol Shine Latino with Mexico City-based production company Boomdog. The newly combined studio, which has offices and production facilities in Mexico City, Los Angeles and Miami, is focused on developing and producing scripted and unscripted content for the U.S. Hispanic and Mexican TV markets.

Zimbron has extensive film and TV production credits, having produced some of the top performing films in Mexico's history, as well as numerous hit television series including Netflix's first original production in Mexico, "Club de Cuervos," which wrapped after its successful fourth season.

Zimbron most recently served as a founding partner in Traziende Films. In 2013, Zimbron released the movie, "Nosotros los Nobles," Gary Alazraki's debut film, breaking the Mexican box office record and becoming the top film of all time on all platforms in Mexico. On the international side, he has produced such hits as "Pulling Strings" and "Darker than Night," which was the first 3D action movie produced in Mexico.

Zimbron has been invited to give seminars and conferences in Mexico, USA, the Dominican Republic and Brasil, including the International Film Festival of Miami, International Meeting of Creative Industries in Sao Paulo, the World Forum of Investment in Cinema in Santo Domingo, International Festivals of Guanajuato and Guadalajara, among others. And he has represented Mexico in various international meetings, through the Mexican Institute of Cinematography, Proméxico and he has been a jury member in international festivals such as the Tribecca Film Festival.

Zimbron also developed a digital distribution platform at Newborn Entertainment, where he served as Content and Production Director. There he developed the largest live 3D digital network in the world at the time for Cinépolis, through which the 2010 FIFA World Cup was screened for the first time on more than 110 live 3D screens.
