Amman (born Aman Shaw) is an Indian actor known for his work in theatre, web, and independent film. A dedicated performer since 2017, Amman began his artistic journey through mime and musical drama, debuting at the 40th Padaboli Mime Festival by Jogesh Mime Academy. He has since appeared in a range of powerful stage performances, including: Bon-Geyo in Gajna Chorer Bajna (Thealovers) Paran Karta in Bodhodhoy (Swarupnagar Institute of Performing Arts) Ray Saheb in Tinti Prosno adapted from Leo Tolstoy And, Ghost of the Past in A Christmas Carol (Drishti Ekhon) Amman is classically trained through workshops and masterclasses at esteemed institutions such as Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, including: Masterclass with Anurag Kashyap and Theatre on Screen. Naba-Rasa from Bibhaban The Experimental Theatre Group. Stop Acting, Be Natural from an Alumni of Lee Strasberg. Voice & Body Movement intensive workshops. Eat the Script and Inner Monologue from Rudra Bharadwaj. Erric Morris Acting System by Saurabh Sachdeva In addition to his acting craft. Amman is a rare practitioner of K.S.Hsiung Southern Praying Mantis Kung-Fu, originating from Moiy-Yearn village, Guangdong, Southern China - bringing a unique physical discipline to his performances. Born to a multicultural heritage - Bengali mother and Kashmiri Hindu father of the Kesarwani (Bania) lineage - Amman embodies a blend of cultural identities. He completed his schooling from The Scottish Church Collegiate School (2017) and later pursued a degree in English Honours at Sir Gurudas Mahavidyalaya under Calcutta University. Amman now expands into web series and film work, known for his layered intensity, improvisation, poetic stillness, and physical presence - a compelling new face in India's evolving screen landscape.
