Trivia

  • Soren Hellerup made a general audition for Hector Babenco's "My Hindu Friend" after the scripts was turned into English. Mr. Babenco was so happy with the audition that Soren got invited to support in the casting process, as well as in the extended rehearsals and was given 5 roles to chose from to play in the film.
  • Soren Hellerup was on vacation in Denmark, when his Sao Paulo agent called about the role of the American producer in "Bingo. O rei das manhas". Soren made a tape of the assigned scene, and even the director very much liked the work, they were concerned about the Scandianvian accent of Soren. After 2 more taped auditions, and a 2 hour long session with the casting director Luciano Baldan and director Daniel Rezende, they decided to change the name of the background of the character and Soren Hellerup was offered the part, now called "Peter Olsen".
  • 2022 marks the 40 years for Sorens graduation from the National Danish Drama School in Copenhagen. This also marks the first work back in Denmark, after 38 years abroad, working with the award winning Scandinavian director, Isabella Eklof in the adaptation of Kim Leines novel: "Kalak".
