Pop-tune composer, author and Commodore Records executive Milton Gabler
was educated at the City College of New York (CCNY) and founded the
Commodore Music Shop in New York in 1926 and Commodore Records in 1938.
In 1956 he was named Artists & Repertoire (A&R) Director for Decca
Records. His best-selling tunes include "L-O-V-E", "Willya, Wontcha,
Kinda, Sorta", "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie", "Tell Me Why", "If I Give My
Heart to You", "The Old Accordion", "Pappa Tree Top Blues", "THe Little
White House", "Margot", "Sing Until the Cows Come Home", "You Had
Better Change Your Ways", and "The Wheel Turns", among others.
