Domnica Circiumaru

Domnica Cîrciumaru is a Romanian casting director with more than 24 years of experience in film and television, having contributed to over 100 feature films and numerous international productions. She has worked with directors such as Francis Lee (God’s Own Country), Veit Helmer (The Bra), Claude Lelouch (What War May Bring), Mick Davis (Modigliani), Fredrik Bond (Charlie Countryman), Cristian Nemescu (California Dreamin’), Christian Carion (Joyeux Noël), Martin Campbell (The Protégé), and Mona Fastvold (The World to Come). In television, she has been responsible for casting some of Romania’s most successful productions, including the TV shows Subteran (Netflix), Umbre (HBO), Clanul (Pro TV), Groapa (VOYO), and Las Fierbinți (Pro TV). She has also cast numerous international series, including Spy/Master (HBO Max), Django (Sky / Canal+), Rise of Empires: Ottoman (Netflix), A Spy Among Friends (ITV / Paramount+), and DNA (Canal+). Domnica began her career in 2002 as a casting assistant and worked as a casting director at MediaPro Pictures, Romania’s largest film studio at the time, from 2004 to 2012. In 2013, she founded her own casting office, establishing herself as one of the most respected casting professionals in the industry. She is a member of the International Casting Directors Association (ICDA), the Casting Society (CSA), and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). She was the first casting director from Romania to be invited to join the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2021.
