Son of Wendy Belzberg, a Canadian heiress and daughter of corporate raider Samuel Belzberg, who the New York Times once called "one of Canada's wealthiest and most controversial businessmen." In 1983, Wendy became a researcher for Peter Jennings on ABC World News Tonight before becoming an associate producer on Nightline with Ted Koppel and a producer on the ABC TV news program Our World.

Son of Strauss Zelnick, an American businessman who, since 2007, has been the Chairman, CEO, and largest single shareholder of Take-Two Entertainment, the company that owns video game franchises Grand Theft Auto, NBA 2K, Red Dead, Borderlands, Civilization, WWE 2K, Bioshock, among others. Strauss was also the interim chairman of CBS Corporation from 2018 to 2019, President and CEO of major music publisher BMG Entertainment from 1995 to 2000, President and CEO of video game company Crystal Dynamics from 1993 to 1995, and President and COO of Twentieth Century Fox, and President and CEO of video company Vestron Entertainment from 198 to 1989. Strauss is the founder and CEO of ZMC, the private equity firm that bought The Second City in 2021.
