Aline Chrétien was born on 14 May 1936 in Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada. She was married to Jean Chrétien. She died on 12 September 2020 in Lac des Piles, Quebec, Canada.
She and her future husband first met on a bus when Jean Chrétien was 17 and Aline was 15. Their wedding six years later was squeezed in between Jean's shifts working at the local mill and his college classes.
