Took his artistic name from British writer Lewis Carroll.

One of his habitual jokes in his shows was: "...Y recuerden todos que si el truco funciona mi nombre es Pepe Carrol, y si no, mi nombre es Andrés Pérez"[...and remember all you that if the trick is done well my name is Pepe Carrol, and if the trick fails, my name is Andrés Pérez].
