Scott Slone is an award-winning American filmmaker originally from Missoula, Montana. He spent his childhood in various states, including Missouri, Maryland, South Carolina, and Florida, before settling in Los Angeles in 2001. Scott attributes his love for independent cinema to the years 1995-2000, when he worked at several video stores and was profoundly inspired by the films releasing during that period . His cinematic influences include directors Kinji Fukasaku, Sergio Leone, Stanley Kubrick, Elia Kazan, and David Lynch, alongside contemporary filmmakers Michael Mann, Quentin Tarantino, and Paul Thomas Anderson. He also draws inspiration from actors such as William Holden, Natalie Wood, Toshiro Mifune, Lee Van Cleef, Claudia Cardinale, Franco Nero, and Bunta Sugawara.
