Masten Gregory was born on February 29, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. He is known for Le Mans (1971), Formula 1 (1950) and Formula 2 (1960). He died on November 8, 1985 in Porto Ercole, Tuscany, Italy.

First American to achieve a podium finish in a Formula 1 World Championship, at the 1957 Monaco Grand Prix.

Won the 1960 Nürburgring with Lucky Casner.

He won the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans.

He started 38 Grands Prix, 3 Podiums and 21 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 6th in 1957.
