While working as voice director on Strange Hill High the producer, Andrew Burrell, asked Nelson to invent a Latin motto for the school crest because he had a degree in Classics. The motto, Tres nos salvabunt can be seen in several places throughout the series. The phrase means 'Three will save us' - a reference to the heroic escapades of the three protagonists in the series.
