Biography

Hank White Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a Social Activist and film industry veteran with over forty-five years of experience as an Actor, Producer, Writer, Casting Director and Director. Hank is Mi'kmaq/Acadian and a long-time member of the Native Council of Nova Scotia Zone 12. He Started Acting at age 10 at the Central Commons Music class, the Theatre Arts Guild, Neptune Theatre second stage, Pier1 Theatre, Seaweed Theatre and Dream Productions. He started Hank White Productions in 1979 and was the first Casting Director in Nova Scotia until 1992. (best known for his diversity in casting and crew) He taught acting with the Young Actors In Training, for several years; Hank is also known for:

• Alliance of Aboriginal Media Producers (AAMP) Co-Chair
• Founder of the Aboriginal and Visible Minority Shadow Program 2004 (Maritime Film Industry)
• A long-time ACTRA member (Actors union.)
• Founding Member of NCAFE National Council of Federal Aboriginal Employees.1993 -
• Founding member of the Federal Anti-Racism Committee (PSAC) 1991 to 2007
• Member of The Children's Wish Foundation N.S. Chapter 1989 to 1999.
• Thirty Two (32) years as a Real Estate Advisor with Public Works Canada (PWGSC).

In 2008 Hank was awarded with The Minister's Award of Excellence in Employment Equity
