- Born in Gary Indiana in 1981 Aaron Bell Sr. was part of a hard working family. His grandfather Arthur Bell Sr. And father Arthur Bell Jr. both worked in the steel mill off the shores of Lake Michigan. At age 2 his parents packed up and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma were they resided for a little over a year. His father got a job offer in New Orleans, LA and the family packed up and moved further south to the big easy. Aaron and his identical twin brother resided here the remainder of their child hood. Influenced by the unique culture, music and great people of the region Aaron had a one of a kind childhood. At age 12 Aaron picked up his first video camera his uncle's Sony Handy Cam Hi8 and fell in love. From that point he played with photography and video cameras at every chance he could. At the introduction of DVD media and discovering the director commentary's track on movies he used to is as his film school. Listing to hundreds of movies mastering terminology and over all education on the movie making process. In 2004 Aaron left the family's nest in Louisiana and moved to the big city of Houston, TX. This is where Aaron would work on multiple sets learning hands on the actual process of movie making and the business side of cinematic productions. Aaron would learn everything on set from Key Grip, Gaffing and Cinematography. Aaron absolutely loves his role as DoP/cinematographer. A few of his favorite cinematographers are Roger Deakin, Steve Yedlin and Bradford Young. Aaron loves how the role of cinematographer can invoke emotion with visuals alone! Aaron tends to stay behind the camera and may pop up on camera rarely. "My place is behind the camera making sure my framing, lighting and exposure is correct. I leave the acting to the actors" Aaron's was tapped for his first feature length film "Mahogany" written, directed and staring Allana De' Nai in 2022.
